Kennebunk High School Secretary Karen Dumont
Named "Maine School Secretary of the Year"

Augusta, ME – The Maine Principals’ Association (MPA) has named Karen Dumont, secretary at Kennebunk High School, as Maine's School Secretary of the year.

Dumont, a resident of Kennebunk, received the award for her people skills, compassion, can-do attitude, organization, and ability to know and always do what is best for Kennebunk High School.  She was nominated for this award by Susan Cressey, Principal of Kennebunk High School.

In announcing Dumont's selection as Maine School Secretary of the Year for 2013, MPA Executive Director Richard Durost noted that "Karen has been the constant through transitions of three school principals in ten years.  As administrative assistant to the principal she applies her experience and insights to the wide range of tasks and challenges that come her way each day in a busy high school office."

As Maine's 2013 School Secretary of the Year, Dumont will be honored at the annual Secretaries' Seminar on March 11 in Portland.  She will also be honored at the MPA's Spring Conference Awards Banquet on March 28, 2013 at the Samoset in Rockport.
