Workshop for New Athletic Administrators

This workshop is required orientation to the Maine Principals' Association and its roles and obligations on behalf of member schools. First-time Maine high school athletic administrators must attend. Following the workshop, LTC 502 Athletic Administration: Principles, Strategies, and Methods will be offered from 2:00-6:00 p.m. by the Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. Topics include potential problems and solutions on issues ranging from budget to scheduling.

Great Beginnings: An Orientation for New School Administrators

This series is part of the MPA's induction plan for new school administrators.

Meetig dates for 2010-11 are September 13, 2010 (proteges and mentor/coaches); October 15, 2010 (mentor/coaches only); December 10, 2010 (snow date - December 13) proteges and mentor/coaches; January 28, 2011 (snow date- January 31) mentor/coaches only; March 11, 2011 (snow date - March 14) Mentor/coaches only; and May 18, 2011 (proteges and mentor/coaches).

Introduction to Athletics for New Principals and Assistant Principals

This workshop is required for first-time high school principals, both from in-state and out-of-state. Its purposes are to provide an awareness of the inner workings of a school's athletic program as well as the role of the Maine Principals' Association in interscholastic activities.
Note: This session may be used by first-time high school athletic administrators, both from in-state and out-of-state, hired after the end of July to fulfill their MPA workshop requirement.
