Hussey Seating Company to Award Maine’s High School Esports Champions This December

AUGUSTA, ME (December 7, 2021)—Hussey Seating Company, a world leading manufacturer and provider of seating solutions for the sports, entertainment, worship and education markets headquartered in Maine, will once again award the Maine Principals’ Association’s (MPA) High School Esports State Champions with custom team chairs.

The Spring 2021 season saw teams from Portland’s Deering High School and Mount Desert Island High School of Bar Harbor receive the coveted prizes, and the Fall 2021 season will conclude on December 17th with Champions being crowned for Rocket League and League of Legends. Hussey Seating Company will award winning schools with a series of customized Clarin by Hussey Seating portable folding chairs from the company’s extensive product offering found at https://www.husseyseating.com.

The Fall 2021 season had 27 schools enter in teams to compete in leagues for popular video games including Rocket League, League of Legends, FIFA 21 and Madden NFL 21.  Rocket League has proven to be the most popular game amongst Maine’s high school teams.

“We continue to grow our partnerships worldwide and supporting the MPA’s Esports teams competing in our own backyard continues to be important to our company and our employees,” said Stephanie Whitman, Manager of Marketing Operations. “Our company has helped some of the largest esports venues develop seating solutions for this new wave of entertainment, and we are looking forward to maintaining our state’s own growth in the sport and build upon the team spirit that each of the competitors adds to their school.”

The Esports regular season started in September, and the brackets for the championships have been finalized.  Click here to view the playoff bracket for Rocket League.  The finals will be hosted on December 17. League of Legends in the Northeast league will take the Top 4 Maine Teams and play the semifinals on December 16.  The finals will be on December 17, too.  Fans can follow their favorite teams at the PlayVS web site https://www.playvs.com/maine.

“Hussey Seating’s support for this growing sport is so appreciated,” said Mike Bisson, Assistant Executive Director of the Interscholastic Division of the MPA. ” Esports allows students and their coaches to engage in healthy gaming competitions while surrounded by their peers in a team-building, school environment.  This is a team sport, and we’re proud that Hussey Seating is part of our team of support, too.”
