Student Council
Maine Association of Student Councils

Sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association

Dear Principal and/or Student Council Advisor,

The Maine Association of Student Councils (MASC) wishes to welcome all to the State Conference.  MASC, with a student-led executive committee and sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, has developed a plan to transform leadership opportunities for Maine students. MASC invites Maine high school and junior high/middle schools to join our association. The student council provides an opportunity for students to lead their schools in a positive and active style. We provide guidance at the local, regional, state, and national levels. Membership provides your school access to workshops, meetings, information, and the opportunity to communicate with fellow student councils.

The Maine Association of Student Councils’ annual dues is $60 per school. Dues cover part of the cost of venues for the Leadership Conference in December, as well as the State Conference in May.

The state conference is a full-day event with the opportunities for students to hear from keynote speakers, have a chance to collaborate with other student councils, and elect the  officers for the Maine Student Council Advisory Committee.

Your student council can be part of the exciting activities in your school. Regional conferences will be planned with your newly elected state officers and will take place in April throughout the state.

The Maine Association of Student Councils invites your school to join and be part of the collegiality of student council membership. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact me at (207) 622-0217, ext. 126 or by e-mail
